Paramount taps mediaedge:cia U.S. for worldwide media; L'Occitane en Provence picks Range.

Paramount Pictures International and Paramount Home Entertainment International awarded Mediaedge:cia U.S. its consolidated worldwide media business. The communications planning and implementation agency has been Paramount’s agency of record in the U.S. since 2004.

L’Occitane en Provence named Range its search marketing agency of record. The France-based luxury beauty, skincare and fragrance retailer selected Range to launch its U.S. domestic paid search campaign.

EVB appointed Kim Kline to vice president of account management and planning. The digital content marketing firm hired Kline from of Euro RSCG San Francisco.

ComScore named Maru Sato to head its Tokyo office. The digital measurement company established comScore Japan KK as its first customer service office in the Asia Pacific region.

Bazaarvoice promoted Sam Decker to chief marketing officer. Decker has authored two books on word of mouth and guerilla marketing, serves on the board of the Word of Mouth Marketing Association, , and serves as chairman of the board of advisors for the Web Analytics Association.

Accoona Corp. named Valentine Zammit president and chief executive officer. Zammit will not only lead the online lead generation and e-commerce company, but also serves as a member of the board of directors for 24/7 Real Media and as chairman of its audit committee.

Wizzard Media added three execs to its sales team. The podcast ad sales unit of Wizzard Software hired Marie Isabelle and Athena Basle in New York and John Moran in Detroit, all as sales representatives.

Step2 named Optiem as its digital marketing agency of record. The plastics company tasked Optiem with online and digital media strategy, search engine optimization, online PR, and optimized site content.

Bidz.com selected Adknowledge for search, e-mail and Web marketing. The online jewelry retailer will use the Adknowledge BidSystem.

Major League Gaming (MLG) named McKinney as its branding agency. The professional video game league tasked McKinney with defining its brand platform and creating strategy and direction for MLGpro.com.

ROO hired three execs. The online video technology company hired Bert Solivan, formerly a senior vice president at FOX News, as EVP and general manager of ROO Media. Paula Balzer, formerly chief marketing officer at Clear Channel Entertainment, has been appointed chief marketing officer. Rick Gell has been appointed chief content officer. Also, Universal Music UK selected ROO to launch its online video package.
