Execs & Accounts for March 16, 2007

Yahoo taps Ismail to lead Brickhouse; Tremor and Affinitive open San Francisco offices; True West taps Tribal DDB Chicago for online duties.

Yahoo hired Salim Ismail to lead Brickhouse. Yahoo’s Brickhouse is a new San Francisco based incubator, created by Caterina Fake, inside Bradley Horowitz’s Advanced Development Division. Ismail will stay on as chairman of Confabb, a start-up.

Revenue Science hired Daniel Hurwitz as director of sales, East. Hurwitz will be responsible for managing all East Coast sales functions.

Tremor Media named Greg Stuart to its board of advisors. Stuart was formerly CEO and President of the IAB. The video and rich media advertising network and technology provider also opened a West Coast office in San Francisco and named two sales execs to lead it. Matthew Rochios will be director of sales, West Coast, and Gregory McAllister will be regional sales manager for the Western region.

Affinitive opened a new office in San Francisco. The provider of
word-of-mouth and social media marketing services is headquartered in New York City with clients that include Disney, THQ, and Ubisoft. Warren Ackerman, Affinitive’s VP of business development, is heading up the new office.

The Hertz Corporation added BBDO New York to its agency roster. The rental car business selected BBDO following a competitive review. Atmosphere BBDO and OMD Digital will handle all online creative development, Web site consulting, online media planning and buying.

City Lights Media Group’s digital division has added three to its team. Kevin Moore will head City Lights Digital brand relations; Brad Kohlenstein will head development and Chachi Senior will lead the production team.

Atmosphere BBDO developed a promotional section within Lays.com to promote the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Lay’s has partnered with singer Tim McGraw and Wal-Mart to launch its Share the Joy campaign. As part of the campaign, Lay’s will donate a dollar to Make-A-Wish for each “moment of joy” shared by users on the Lays.com site.

Nine West made Tribal DDB Chicago its agency of record. The fashion footwear, accessories and apparel company selected Tribal DDB Chicago to launch a new Web site in the summer of 2007, with other interactive marketing efforts slated to follow shortly thereafter.

Vibrant Media hired Scott Deutrom as European sales director. The provider of in-text advertising and of contextual video advertising hired Deutrom away from the media sales arm of BSkyB, where he was head of online and commercial partnerships.
