Nathan Richardson has left Dow Jones & Company after less than a year as SVP and general manager of Dow Jones Online. He’s taken a position with the International Rescue Committee’s Liberia office. The company has not yet named a replacement.
“He made great contributions in his time here, establishing a strong product agenda and bringing in terrific talent,” said a Dow Jones spokesperson. “Nathan left us too soon, but as a company whose editorial voice is for free people and free markets, we admire Nathan’s humanitarian impulse and wish him well as he helps to improve lives in Liberia and elsewhere in Africa.”
AT&T used interactive video software from Avant to create a new online campaign called “Home Turf.” The effort, at SeeHowTheyLive.com, depicts the daily lives of 20 pro athletes.
New West Publishing, a community-driven Web publisher serving the Rocky mountain states, added Maury Povich and John O’Donnell to its board of managers. Povich — yes, that Povich — is one of several recent investors in the company, and O’Donnell is executive director of the TechRange business incubator in Bozeman. The company’s advisory board also includes John Battelle and Merrill Brown, former editor-in-chief of MSNBC.com. New West Founder Jonathan Weber was co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Industry Standard.
