Verizon picks 10 agencies; VideoEgg hatches a president; Aquent partners with Web Analytics Demystified.

Verizon picked 10 advertising and brand agencies for cross-business unit support. The broadband and wireless communications provider selected agencies to provide account services and creative support to Verizon Communications, Verizon Business and Verizon Wireless in an effort to create a common look and feel across the company’s lines of business. The agencies selected are McCann Erickson, Zenith, Universal McCann, Global Hue, Ad Asia, Moxie, RGA, Landor Associates, MRM and Momentum.

VideoEgg hired Adam Klein as president. The video solution and video ad network for online communities hired Klein from his position as EVP of strategy and business development at EMI Music. Before his stint at EMI, Klein was president and COO of Ask Jeeves, Inc.

Aquent and consultancy Web Analytics Demystified have partnered. The consultancy, recently founded by former JupiterResearch analyst Eric Peterson, partnered with the marketing staffing firm to help organizations more successfully leverage Web analytics as part of their online marketing efforts.

Local.com named Kim LaFleur to the position of VP of product management. The local search engine company hired LaFleur from her position as senior director of product management for Digital River’s globalTech, Inc.

Tacoda promoted Gil Beyda to EVP, corporate strategy and development. The behavioral targeting advertising network created the position for Beyda, who had been CTO and VP engineering. The company also added StarWars.com, Geffen Records, Universal Music Group, and Fandango to its network.

Visual Sciences and [x+1] expanded their partnership. The provider of real-time analytics applications, formerly WebSideStory, will integrate its Platform 5 with [x+1]’s Progressive Optimization Engine.

Fathom Online named Garrett Mullins as VP of sales and solutions. The digital marketing and technology services provider appointed Mullins to lead Fathom Online’s national sales team and focus on Fathom Analytics. Mullins was previously senior project executive managing sales, interactive sales, and customer care at IBM Global Services.

MediaCom U.S. named Barbara Cipolla president, chief strategic services officer. The media communications company created the position for Cipolla who joined MediaCom from its sister GroupM agency Mediaedge:cia, where she served as managing partner, marketing and business development director.

DailyCandy hired two execs. The provider of women-targeted daily e-mail shopping newsletters hired Catherine Levene as COO and Alyson Racer as VP sales. Levene is formerly of TheFind.com and New York Times Digital, while Racer is also previously with The New York Times.

Victorinox Swiss Army named Whittmanhart Interactive as its interactive advertising agency of record. The agency will develop online marketing efforts for the provider of Victorinox multi-tools, forged cutlery, and LED lighting products.

SellingSource.com promoted Wayne Anderson to EVP of emerging markets. Anderson was previously CMO for the technology-driven marketing systems provider.

Biocodex picked Big Arrow Group ad AOR for its Florastor and Florastor Kids brands. The consulting and communications firm has been named branding and communications agency of record by the North American division of the French pharmaceutical company Biocodex, to promote the drugs.
