Refinery names a head of search; New Line taps COG1 for e-mail; executive shuffle at ValueClick.

Refinery named Gerry McGoldrick to head search engine services. McGoldrick was co-founder and president of SEM firm directMASS, which Refinery acquired. Earlier, he was VP of media services and corporate development at Insight Interactive, and served a stint as media director of i-Frontier.

New Line Cinema tapped COG1 to produce email campaigns for the DVD releases of its films “Birth” and “The Sea Inside.” The agency earlier conducted a similar campaign for New Line’s “Vera Drake” DVD release.

ValueClick promoted Scott Ray to chief financial officer, replacing Sam Paisley, who becomes chief administrative officer. Ray joined in 2002 as general manager of the Mediaplex division, and became EVP of finance last year. Paisley has filled a variety of roles, including that of chief operating officer.

Ignited Minds hired Mike Wolfsohn as VP and creative director, and Matt Winslow as VP of business development. Former creative director Ron Gould has been promoted to SVP and executive creative director.

Icrossing hired Steven Bustin to head its client services teams in San Francisco and Scottsdale, Arizona. Bustin last worked for Fathom Online, heading West Coast sales efforts.

Interpolls hired James Kreckler as VP of Eastern region sales and promoted Creed Pettit to VP of sales for the Western region. Kreckler’s background includes stints with AOL Media Networks and DoubleClick. Pettit joined in 2003 as director of sales, and earlier worked for Viewpoint.

PremierGuide launched 25 private-label local search sites for TV stations in the last month. Clients include ABC, Capitol Broadcasting Company, Community Newspaper Holdings, and Young Broadcasting.

E-mail marketing enabler Quris hired Louise Hurlbut as managing director. Hurlbut was a partner at ViewPoint Marketing and a senior exec at Omnicom’s The Integer Group.

The Active Marketing Group named Rand Ragusa to head online business development for Active.com & eteamz.com. Ragusa was VP of business development at Freestyle Interactive.
