Dow Jones hires Molland as GM for MarketWatch; Steve Case resigns from Time Warner board; Google hires a VP of global communications.
Dow Jones & Company hired Maria Molland as general manager of MarketWatch.com. She was most recently director of business development for Yahoo Finance.
AOL co-founder Steve Case resigned from Time Warner’s board. ” I thank Steve Case for his years of distinguished service to our company. We have great respect for his long record of achievement,” said CEO and Chairman Dick Parsons.
Google hired Elliot Schrage as VP of global communications and public affairs. He joins from the Council on Foreign Relations, where he advised corporations on social responsibility issues. Earlier, he directed global affairs for Gap Inc.
AlmondNet joined the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). Several other behavioral targeting companies also belong to the association.
Yahoo hired Paul Marcum as general manager of Yahoo’s youth content. The position has oversight of product development and partner relationships for Yahooligans! and Yahoo Education, among other initiatives. Marcum joins from Sesame Workshop, where he oversaw all interactive media, including sesamestreet.com.
T3 hired Chris Batchik as director of direct marketing. Batchik was SVP and group director of McCann Erickson Relationship Marketing.
