Hearst invites MSN to the table; Miva grabs direct marketing vet Ribaudo; Olympic Committee chooses mInfo
Hearst and MSN partnered to create Delish.com. The food-related Web site set to launch in fall 2008 will be owned and supported by Hearst Magazines, and distributed by MSN.
Desktop software provider Miva Direct named Mark Ribaudo VP of direct marketing. In his newly-created role, Ribaudo will oversee direct marketing and advertising across Miva’s offerings. Ribaudo has 15 years of direct marketing and brand management experience, including time as group director of Internet marketing at Scholastic. He was also brand manager of premium brands at Philip Morris, and also worked in the direct marketing division at Doubleday Direct.
The Beijing Olympic Committee selected mInfo as its official mobile search provider. MInfo will support wap.beijing2008.cn, the official Olympic mobile site and search service in English and simplified or traditional Chinese languages.
Millennial Media partnered with mobile ad tech firm Action Engine. The affiliation adds downloadable applications to Millennial’s mobile advertising network.
Mobile ad and monetization software firm Openwave named Karen Willem chief financial officer. Willem served as EVP and CFO of Cassatt Corporation, a software company she co-founded. She was also CFO and SVP of Brio Software, which is now Oracle.
