MySpace lures Valeh Vakili from Yahoo; Tidal TV selects Toy New York for online TV service; Q Interactive promotes pair.
Yahoo veteran Valeh Vakili joined MySpace. She was named VP of sales strategy and operations at MySpace in a newly-created position. Vakili will oversee the account management team and work on pricing, packaging, and inventory management from the New York City offices. Vakili was at Yahoo for eight years, where she began her career. She held multiple positions both domestically and internationally, and most recently helped lead the integration of Yahoo’s search, display, Blue Lithium, and Right Media sales teams as director of U.S. sales and operations.
Toy New York was named agency of record for TidalTV. Toy will help build a brand for the new online television service.
Q Interactive promoted two of its executives. Bob Girolamo was promoted to regional vice president, West Coast sales. Girolamo has 10 years of experience within Q Interactive’s sales team. He previously served as VP of the strategic accounts group. Ryan Maher was promoted from sales director to regional vice president, East Coast sales. Maher has been part of the Q Interactive sales team for the past eight years.
SkyMall selected Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews. The multi-channel retailer went live with Ratings & Reviews in July.
LiveDeal appointed Mike Edelhart CEO. Edelhart has been interim CEO for three months. He was previously CEO of Inman News, and founder and CEO of Intagio. Edelhart is an Internet start-up investor and executive, and an advisor to Infovell.
