Jupitermedia picks up demographic and trends tracking site Nua.comand plans to merge it with its competitive offering, CyberAtlas.
Demographic and trends tracking site Nua.com found a new home Tuesday when Jupitermedia , owner of Nua.com competitor CyberAtlas.com, scooped it for an undisclosed amount.
Jupitermedia plans to turn Nua.com into a section of its CyberAtlas.com offering.
“The acquisition of Nua.com strengthens our editorial coverage of the Internet and information technology and will be a valuable resource for our user audience as well as for Jupitermedia,” said Jupitermedia Chairman and CEO Alan M. Meckler. “The addition of Nua.com’s content and resources to our own CyberAtlas.com, combined with our paid research offerings from Jupiter Research, further expands Jupitermedia’s international research offerings.”
Jupitermedia acquired Nua.com from Dublin, Ireland-based publisher Scope Communications Group, which publishes Computerscope and PC Live! magazines. It also runs technology site Techcental.ie. Scope has owned the Nua.com site for about two years, picking it up in receivership when its parent, Nua, hit the skids.
Nua.com is perhaps best known for its How Many Online? feature, which offers an estimate of the global Internet user population. The site claims more than 200,000 people in more than 140 countries read its news and analyses each week, and said it has more than 80,000 subscribers for its weekly newsletter.
Jupitermedia is the parent of internetnews.com.
