Juniper Research also found that due to consumer preference for streaming rather than downloading, the download market is experiencing a gradual decline. The study attributed the change in preference partly due to the diminishing costs of broadband and mobile network costs – presenting the opportunity for streamers to boost ad-based revenues. Spotify recently announced ad revenues grew by 380% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period the previous year.
Apple’s recently launched Apple Music may be a major force behind the positive forecast of the study, which is running both audio and display ads from McDonalds, Nordstrom, and others to subscribers.

Profit should also be very high for music streaming channels as opposed to websites that need to create their own content.
