Microsoft has become the latest tech giant to join the headset-clad gang, unveiling what it’s calling “the next generation of computing”, even going so far as to call it “the next PC” – but will the promise of a digital revolution deliver?
In a bid to move information off of our screens and in to our physical form, Microsoft revealed what it’s been working on for years – a pair of holographic glasses set to revolutionise our digital lives – HoloLens
HoloLens will allow people to interact with holographic images, make Skype calls, play games and build 3D models.
“Our industry’s progress is punctuated by moments of category creation,” said Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s chief executive. “Windows and holographic computing is one such moment,” he said at an event to launch its (free) Windows 10 operating system.
