New research from the digital experts at j2 Global has revealed that almost three in 10 SMEs are looking to enhance their online presence in the new year, whether that be merely creating a new website or online store, as smaller businesses increasingly realise the benefits of digital marketing.
According to the report, 44% of those surveyed are also planning on focusing on tried and tested email marketing campaigns, and are looking to include promotions that will be shared on social networks.
As well as this, small and medium sized businesses are beginning to realise the benefits that can come with the world’s addiction to smartphones, with 14% saying the adoption of mobile marketing best practices is to be their top priority in 2014.
Facebook has plenty of fans among SMEs it seems, with seven out of the 10 respondents who said they either currently use or plan to use mobile marketing strategies saying they will be utilising Facebook to do this, with 43% saying the same of Twitter.
