The app’s primary demographic, college students, still trust the service and haven’t changed their use of the app since the hack, that resulted in nearly 100,000 private user photos and videos being published online, says a new study by Sumpto.
The study polled more than 1,800 undergraduate students in the US about their use of Snapchat following the hack of a third-party Snapchat apps that resulted in the thousands of leaked photos.
The study, which highlighted security vulnerabilities within the app, did not deter the majority of Snapchat’s users thoughts about the service. Of those polled, 75% said the hack would not change how they use the service and 58% report they trust Snapchat. And as far as Snapsaved, the third party Snapchat-saving app that was the target of the hack, 16% of students reported using the app in the past.
