Sunday most popular day for m-commerce

Mobile shopping traffic was found to be highly concentrated on Sundays and at its lowest on Fridays.

Across the seven-day week, sleepy Sunday has been voted the most popular day for shopping via mobile devices, a study from Opera has found.

The study suggests that consumers study products over the weekend, then finalise options and purchase when most return to work on Monday – where traffic to desktop e-commerce sites peak.

Mobile shopping traffic was found to be highly concentrated on Sundays and at its lowest on Fridays.

The study found that Amazon attracted the greatest share of mobile shopping – with the online store holding on to its US market share with a 36.3% share, followed by eBay (16%) and Craigslist (11.5%).

This data was sourced from 270 million users of Opera Software’s mobile browsers.
