Other brands making waves include Heinz, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Cadbury as consumers favour established brands, claims Stephen Cheliotis, Superbrands’ council chairman, despite the popularity of new media.
He said: “Younger brands, such as the social media giants, are sitting on the sidelines making little impact as a huge battle takes place among trusted, traditional brands seeking to remain relevant and retain their positions among the brand elite.”
Google is the youngest brand to make the list, yet slipped from seventh to 18th place, compared to last year.
