Tesco slices Kingsmill bread from stores

Kingsmill bread lovers will no longer be able to purchase the product in-store or online from next week, as the brand “struggles against the supermarket price war”.

Kingsmill bread lovers will no longer be able to purchase the product in-store or online from next week, as the brand “struggles against the supermarket price war”.

Other Kingsmill products, such as waffles and pancakes will still be stocked.

The move by Tesco comes as Kingsmill owner Allied Bakeries, alongside parent company Associated British Foods forecasts lower than expected profits for the six months to 28 February.

The firm has blamed the fierce price wars between supermarkets, as cheaper rivals Aldi and Lidl continue to consume market share.
