Six Apart plans to integrate Kanoodle's content-targeted text ads into its hosted blog service.
Six Apart and Kanoodle announced today that the two companies will integrate Kanoodle’s contextual advertising tools into Six Apart’s TypePad hosted Weblog service.
Beginning in the first quarter of next year, TypePad subscribers will be able to add Kanoodle’s content-targeted sponsored links to their blogs through the TypePad interface.
“TypePad’s subscribers are creating some of the Web’s most innovative content and we are committed to providing them with additional services in partnership with industry leaders,” said Andrew L. Anker, executive vice president of Six Apart. “Kanoodle demonstrates the level of relevancy and monetization that Six Apart and our customers demand.”
Google removed the contextual ads from its hosted BlogSpot sites in August, but later allowed Blogger users to sign up for its AdSense program, which lets publishers share in the revenues generated by the advertising.
Feed and blog ad firm Pheedo yesterday launched an ad management tool that will let publishers insert paid ads into their RSS or Atom content feeds, and track the resulting activity. A similar offering could become available if rumors of an Overture partnership with RSS tools provider Feedburner come to fruition.
