UK's mobile advertising spend to hit almost £1bn in 2013

New research conducted by eMarketer has revealed that the UK's spend on mobile advertising has increased by almost 90% in the past year.

Recent research conducted by eMarketer has revealed that the UK’s spend on mobile advertising has increased by almost 90% in the past year.

Conducted by evaluating over 350 data points from many different research sources, the research reveals that though last year saw £526 million spent on mobile advertising, this year it is predicted that that figure will brush the £1 billion mark.

The UK’s consistent mobile internet audience and increasing use of smartphones and tablets means that brands and agencies are increasingly targeting the UK-based multiscreen consumers.

The report also reveals that each UK internet user will have, on average, £127 of digital advertising spent on them, which is over four times the global average and even higher than the average amount spent by advertisers in the US.
