International Brands Inc., operator of WorldBestBuy.com, said it is about to launch the online mall with a banner campaign on Yahoo and another 3,500 Web sites as well as sponsorship of a NASCAR Winston Cup team for the full 2000 season.
The site will market computers, exotic cars, fine jewelry, perfumes, software, hardware, sporting goods, toys, office supplies, cosmetics, fragrances, home essentials, music, videos, gourmet coffee and floral arrangements.
WorldBestBuy.com also will offer two additional sections called Garage Bargains and World Bazaar. At the Garage Bargains site visitors can buy and sell products sold in the U.S. directly among each other with optional clearing arrangements.
The World Bazaar section concentrates on items bought and sold by individuals or companies from foreign countries. Campaign spending and agency details were not disclosed.
