Twitter is bringing on 17 new staffers in Dublin, Ireland, underscoring its larger aims to build ad revenues in Europe. The San Francisco tech firm made its ads platform, Promoted Products, available in the United Kingdom late in 2011, and now appears set for further expansions.
“Later this year, we will begin selling Promoted Products in The Netherlands and Spain to serve the growing demands of advertisers in those markets; some of the positions posted today are for sales people to support that expansion,” wrote Twitter rep Matt Graves in an email to ClickZ.
Today’s revelation comes on the heels of Twitter hiring Google exec Stephen McIntyre in late February to lead sales out of the Dublin office.
