Sales on biggest online shopping day hit $1.03 billion, according to comScore.
Online sales during the 2010 holiday season in the United States totaled $32.6 billion, an increase of 12 percent compared to 2009, according to comScore. The total marked an all-time high.
The biggest spending day of the season – and also year – was Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, when sales totaled $1.03 billion, a 16 percent jump.
Based on percentage change, the biggest increase came on the free shipping day, Dec. 17, 2010, when sales climbed 61 percent; sales totaled $586 million in 2009 compared to $942 million in 2010.
