Social networking behemoth Facebook is planning to further expand its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, by hiring 100 new staff in its international base in Dublin, Ireland, by the end of the year.
The company opened an international base in Ireland in 2007 and currently employs around 200 staff there, mostly dealing with ad sales, account management, and operations functions. Speaking with the Guardian, the firm’s director of online operations, oversees operations and global ads policy, Colm Long, said it now intends to expand all of those teams over the next twelve months.
Facebook’s Dublin recruitment portal currently lists around 90 vacancies, mainly for sales staff speaking a range of European languages, including English, German, Dutch and Swedish, but also Eastern European languages such as Czech, Polish, Russian, and Slovak.
Other vacancies include those in product marketing, recruitment, and two for “Law Enforcement Response Analysts,” which it says will be responsible for interfacing with law enforcement and attorneys, and ensuring “respect for European Data protection laws.”
