Lithuania's Online Population

A survey from SIC Gallup Media found that 8.9 percent of Lithuanians used the Internet at least once a month during the fourth quarter of 2000. This figure is up from 7.2 percent during Q3 of 2000.

Occasional Internet use is also up. The survey found 10.2 percent of Lithuanians used the Internet at least once every six months during the fourth quarter of 2000, an increase of 1.8 percent on the figure for the previous quarter.

The Internet is most popular among Lithuanians aged 20 to 29 who make up 31.4 percent of the nation’s users. Those least likely to use the Net are those aged 60 to 74 who account for just 1.8 percent of Lithuania’s online population. Over a quarter (25.1 percent) of those aged 30-39 were Internet users.
