Euro RSCG Carves New Gig for Romano; YOC Acquires Bluestar; La Vanguardia Partners with Brightcove

Euro RSCG has appointed Fernanda Romano to the newly created position as global creative director, digital and experiential. Romano will work across the network’s global client base and collaborate with the creative departments of Euro RSCG offices worldwide. She will be based in London initially, and will relocate later this year to Madrid to launch a global division for the agency that will coordinate efforts across disciplines and geographies. Romano will report to David Jones, Global CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide, and will work closely with Pete Zillig, president of global brands and Matt Atkinson, global CEO of Euro RSCG 4D.

German-based full service mobile agency YOC Group has acquired British mobile marketing firm Bluestar Mobile as it seeks to grow its business internationally. Bluestar has carried out design and build work for a number of high profile clients, including The Times, The News of the World, The New York Post, The Mirror, The Guardian, Motorola, 20th Century Fox, and Bacardi. YOC itself offers a range of mobile services, including mobile shopping coupons, consumer research, marketing, and content production.

Barcelona-based daily newspaper La Vanguardia has partnered with Brightcove to power its ad-supported video content.Sony, Peugeot, and Nissan are some of the first brands to advertise in La Vanguardia’s new online video offerings, which appear alongside breaking news, and daily and weekly editorial features.

Phonevalley has developed Volvo’s first mobile Internet site in Russia, m.citysafety.ru, to support the launch of the automotive manufacturer’s new crossover Volvo XC60 model. The site will allow users to book free test drives and to download a 3D game called City Rally.
