New Zealand's Online Population Passes 1 Million

By the end of 2000, there will be approximately 1.14 million New Zealanders online, according to International Data Corp (IDC).

Wellingon is the most connected city in New Zealand, with 44 percent of its households connected to the Internet, according to an AC Nielsen survey. Christchurch is second with 44 percent of households connected, followed by Auckland at 39 percent. Overall, 27 percent of New Zealand’s households are connected to the Internet, the survey found.
