ComQUEST reported in November of 1998 that 6.3 million Canadians accessed the World Wide Web on a weekly basis in the previous year. That means more than 26 percent of the Canadian adult population is online. This data comes from a random survey of 1,500 Canadian adults.

In March of 1998, AC Nielsen reported 8.9 million Canadians over the age of 12 had Internet access.

Closer to the ComQUEST number, the Computer Industry Almanac estimates there were 6.49 million Canadians online at the end of 1998.
