ASA bans sexist and 'offensive' Pot Noodle Facebook ad
The Advertising Standards Authority has banned an ad on the social media site that compared Pot Noodle's Piri Piri flavour pot to photo of a model in a bikini, and asked visitors "Phwarr is it me or is it getting hot in here? HOT OFF. Which one gets you hotter?” for being “crass and degrading”.

After investigating complaints regarding three adverts recently used in the brand’s latest ‘Peel the top of a hottie’ campaign, including the video below, the ASA deemed only the above worthy of banning, the others being described instead as only “mildy sexual” and “not salacious”.
Though the ASA said it recognised brand owner Unilever‘s “tongue-in-cheek” message and intention, its “crass and degrading” way of presenting a scantily dressed woman in a sexual pose was “likely to cause serious offence”.
