Dove's latest campaign is inspired by a recent Twitter study that revealed four out of every five negative tweets posted on the site about beauty and body image are women putting themselves down.

“Last year women sent over 5 million negative Tweets about beauty and body image. But it only takes one positive Tweet to start a trend. Let’s change the way we talk about beauty on social media. Above is the thinking behind Dove’s new Twitter campaign, which was inspired by a recent Twitter study that revealed four out of every five negative tweets posted on the site about beauty and body image are women putting themselves down. In response, Dove, during the Oscars, will be using a Twitter tool that identifies certain key words about appearance and body image, will flag the negative tweets and will Tweet positive responses.
