Entrepreneurs go viral to scoop Branson's £1m marketing fund

Last week a sibling pair of entrepreneurs gatecrashed a London-based digital agency to canvas votes with a big case of ice cream and a bigger idea: to win Richard Branson's "Pitch to Rich" competition.

Last week a sibling pair of entrepreneurs gatecrashed a London-based digital agency to canvas votes with a big case of ice cream and a bigger idea: to win Richard Branson’s “Pitch to Rich” competition.

The brothers behind healthy ice cream brand Oppo, Harry and Charlie Thuillier, entered the offices of Spirit Digital, and left with a viral video and a bigger chance of scooping £250K in funding from Virgin’s big cheese to take their business “to the next level”.

The Spirit team were so taken with the brothers’ “cheek and determination” and the story behind the brand that they wrote a script on the spot and the following day the team were shooting it on a roof in Peckham.

Featuring naked models, a coconut wielding dwarf and a kinky Richard Branson  – the stunt is helping to secure Oppo a place in the live final and a £250K marketing budget.

Charlie Thuillier, Founder & Managing Director, Oppo: “Oppo is the underdog. We are up against some established names in this competition – and as David vs Goliath illustrates in the video, we’re also challenging multi-national corporations on a daily basis. We’re a young team but want to make sure we get into the live final more than anything else.”

Harry Thuillier, Director, Oppo: “While we’ve got this far with no marketing budget the £250K prize would take Oppo to the next level. We are incredibly grateful to Spirit Digital for producing this video. It was very fun to make – there’s nothing better than naked models and healthy ice cream.”
