The ‘First Kiss’ online video, which featured strangers kissing in a range of awkward embraces, has in fact been revealed as a commercial for an autumn/winter clothing range.

The video spread across the internet faster than a contagious rash, clocking nearly 50 million views worldwide in four days, to a mixed reception. The video, in its awkward entirety, watches the first tentative steps taken by strangers to kiss for the first time with a camera ready to capture every slurp.
What was considered a charming social experience fast turned into outcry, as it was revealed models littered the camera lens – and now it’s clear the video was a way of boosting sales for the brand Wren Studio.
Whether love was present in any sloppy exchange isn’t clear, but what’s clear is that Wren Studio just targeted millions of consumers within a three and half minute clip in four days – nice work.
The clues were there, with one smootcher saying: “Since you’re an actress, you’ve done this before, and… I’ll follow your lead then.”
If you’re feeling cheated by true loves fake kiss, then have a look at this hilarious parody, every cloud has a silver lining.

They may have “targeted millions of consumers within a three and half minute clip in four days” but people watching kissing does not equal people buying clothes. Great idea, but with no connection to their brand or outlets, that’s a lot of traction going to waste. Let’s hope their strategy is multi-stage and that wasn’t it.
