The Russian Non-Profit Center for Internet Technology (ROCIT) found there were 1 million online in Russia in 1998.
According to IDC, there were 1.2 million Internet users in Russia at the end of 1998, up from 384,000 users in 1996. IDC also expects the Russian Internet market will stagnate in 1999 because of the nation’s ongoing economic difficulties.
