Written by Alberto Ponte, art directed by Ryan O’Rourke and directed by Jon Saunders through Passion, the clip includes virtual replicas of some of the game’s biggest stars, from Rooney to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Released online on Monday 9 June, the animation marks another extension of Nike’s already successful marketing strategy for the 2014 Fifa World Cup, which begins on Thursday.
Matt Hunnicutt, the global executive producer at Wieden & Kennedy Portland, said about the new ad: “I can’t understate the magnitude of the production.
“Passion, and the entire Nike and W&K team, really poured every ounce of themselves into the project. At the peak we had over 300 people pulling together to make the film.”
Nike has been winning the social share league tables with its existing marketing content and looks set to reach even more of its target audience with this animated creation.

What a load of sh*t that video is. So contrived too. And why is Rooney there? He’s not world-class. He shouldn’t even be playing for England on his current form.
