Liberis, one of the UK’s largest providers of SME funding, has launched a fun new online competition that seeks to discover Britain’s Friendliest Business. Driven by a social media campaign, the company has also released a great video alongside the competition that shares some of the stories of applicants so far. Apparently, friendly people really like to dress up and burst into spontaneous song…
Launched in order to champion hard-working small businesses, those who apply can submit the story of their business, and explain why they think they should be awarded “Britain’s Friendliest Business”, via an online entry form.
Late December will see the 20 shortlisted businesses announced, with the three finalists profiled across social media in January 2014 and the winner of the cash prize announced in Feburary 2014. The competition can be found on Twitter by tracking #BFBiz and following @LiberisUK.

Paul Mildenstein, CEO of Liberis, explained: “We want to celebrate British businesses with a loyal and even impassioned customer base – anything from the baker who always chooses the largest baguette for his neighbours to a hair salon that helped a favourite (pregnant) customer get to the delivery ward of the nearest hospital.
“The most important thing we offer at Liberis is the personal, friendly connection to our customers, and we wanted to show our recognition and appreciation to business owners across the country who run their businesses the same way.”
