PokerStars launches ‘biggest ever’ marketing campaign with superstar footballers

In two new videos released on PokerStars’ Facebook page, the footballers are seen hanging out with friends playing poker. At the end of one ad Neymar raises the stakes, only to find out he and his opponent have the same cards.
The two footballers have immense global appeal. Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has more than 100 million Facebook fans while Neymar has 53 million followers on the social media site.
The TV ads were shot in Madrid and Barcelona and will premiere around the world on August 17th.
Tarquin Henderson, head of EMEA gaming sales at Facebook said he was delighted with the new campaign: ‘‘People come to Facebook to discover things that matter to them, whether it’s photos from their friends and family, videos from brands they love, or posts from their favourite celebrities.’’
‘‘PokerStars’ campaign combines the best of this – fresh, engaging content from two of the biggest footballers on the planet.’’
He continued: ‘‘Thanks to Facebook’s scale and unparalleled targeting tools, these videos will reach the most relevant audience, from poker and gaming fans to football aficionados.’’
