Now that the main players have released their Christmas creations we want you to vote for your favourite. Will the penguin win the poll? You decide!
Christmas time is not as innocently jolly as it seems. Underneath the snow flakes, baubles and fairy lights lurks a branded battle for blood.
Every year brand’s release a gamut of glittering adverts, designed to ignite the Christmas spirit within (and get consumers spending money in-store).
Now that the main players have released their Christmas creations, we want you – our loyal and loving .rising readers – to vote for your favourite.
We’ve carefully handpicked five of our favouite/the most viewed UK ads currently circulating the internet for your consideration.
Will the penguin win the poll? Will Boots kick the competition to win the vote?
Make sure to vote below!
(In no particular order)
John Lewis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iccscUFY860
Currently winning the share count, John Lewis’ Christmas ad has become somewhat of an institution. This year an imaginary Monty the penguin finding love has clocked up 11,827,247 views so far (at time of publication), showing no sign of slowing.
Boots
Impartial as always, we at .rising have picked this as out favourite. It perfectly captures what Christmas is truly about, rather than concentrating on product it focuses on spirit. Good job Boots. However, with 170,044 views, it barely compares to the giant total of John Lewis.
Mulberry
Bringing humour to an industry typically devoid of laughter, we commend you Mulberry for letting granny #WinChristmas.
Burberry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojBufhpPgMo
With enough gold and glitter to sink a small country, Burberry has called upon the Beckham brand to dance their way into the hearts of an international Christmas audience. “From London with Love” shows Romeo Beckham dancing around the streets of London to the beautiful melodies of Tom Odell – very nice!
Marks and Spencer
Check out Marks and Spencer’s “Magic and Sparkle” creation, following two fairies spreading Christmas spirit across the country.

What about Coca Cola’s ‘Give a little happiness’ ad? Surely deserves to be in there?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzAdl56QcC0
Hi Abigail, after careful consideration we decided that Coca-Cola’s offering is pretty much the same every year. However – without this ad it wouldn’t be Christmas – perhaps that’s the biggest accolade of all!?
Abigail – a little happiness to the people of Varanasi or other areas where water extraction is excessive?
