WWF has launched an emoji-based campaign, which utilises Twitter to raise funds for the charity. Created by Wieden + Kennedy London, the campaign has identified 17 emoji animals which are endangered (including the bluefin tuna, spider monkey, Sumatran tiger, African wild dog and more) and asks emoji users to pay 10p for each time they use them in a tweet.
Regular emoji users are encouraged to sign up to be part of the campaign via endangeredemoji.com or by retweeting the Endangered Emoji tweet which is pinned to the top of the @WWF Twitter feed. The WWF then tally up any endangered animal emojis used, and present each user with a (voluntary) monthly donation amount.
