A truly heart warming video campaign answers an expectant-mother’s fears about the future of her child diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
All parents want their children to grow up happy and healthy, but most people doubt the quality of life that Down Syndrome would have upon a person. The Coordown ad, which has received nearly 5 million views on youtube, shows people with Down Syndrome offering advice to a mother who fears the future of her child.
The 2-minute long ad coincided with World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st March, in a bid to raise awareness for CoorDown, Italiy’s national organisation for people with the syndrome. The reality-centred campaign really brings home the organisations message, putting the subject of fear on centre-stage to truly answer any doubts people have about the syndrome.
CoorDown’s campaign, created by Saatchi and Saatchi Italy, is another example of a charity spreading awareness with reality.
The children and adults conclude: “Sometimes it will be difficult. Very difficult. Almost impossible. But isn’t it like that for all mothers?
“Dear future mom, your child can be happy. Just like I am. And you’ll be happy too.”
