HBO launches social dragon hunt ahead of Game of Thrones premiere

As the internet groans under the pirated-strain of eager Game of Thrones fans, the official UK launch later today (April 13) has been preceded by an internet-wide dragon hunt.
HBO, in partnership with creative agency 360i, is encouraging fans to lay bait to catch one of the shows infamous dragons via social. Fans can lay bait using the hashtag #CatchDrogon.
Bait takes the form of animated gifs created from show content and will be hosted on a dedicated site for fans to browse before posting on their own social feeds.
However, they will also be encouraged to put out bait of their own.
“People may be putting their little brothers or sisters or bosses out there,” 360i group creative director Michael Nuzzo told AdAge.
Willing fans could scoop unique content or prizes if they’re fast enough to retweet perishable tweets.
