#WorldEmojiDay – a celebration of the cartoon illustrations that now dominate the way brands communicate with consumers – drew over 271,000 mentions online on Friday 17 July.

According to Spredfast, the most active brand on Twitter using the hashtag was beer brand Miller Lite, followed by Sprite and the NFL Network. Others in the top 10 include Disney, Chaler Khazaal, Juampa Zurita, NASA, and Cory O’Donnell.

The top countries discussing the day were found to be the US, followed by the UK.
